/g/ my attempt at OC,
i5 4690 3,9 -> 4,3
ram 1600->2133
r9 390 1010->1080
and i see no difference in gaming performance.
and a slight performance in benchmarks (as in 1/3%)
is this normal? or am i doing something wrong?
Probably wont see much of a performance increase with such a light OC. My i5 6600k runs 3.5 stock and didnt see much of a performance boost till I hit 4.8. But even then we are talking 10-15fps with exception of GTA V where it made a huge difference. Ive got a r9 390 as well but it does'nt OC that well.

yeah. anything over 1080 without changing voltage produces artifacts already.
well then i guess ill oc the cpu some more. though i dont like anything running over 70*

you see difference in futuremark score
>>55315579
What cpu cooler are you using?

I`ve got 4.8 i5 4690k, 2400 mem and r9 390 oced to 1180 and believe me it isn`t that fast.

I tried to beat the shit out of my pc on firestrike. Somehow insane voltage on MSI cards helped to get 1.2 GHz on 390 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/6933815

Looks decent. Id suggest changing the fan and strapping a second one on the other side if you can. Might help with the temps when pushing the OC further.
>>55315912
yeah, ive been meaning to get the second fan there. thanks.
>>55315387
Totally normal. You won't see anything except you do heavy OC, like a Titan X 1000>1500 MHz. It gave me average 15 FPS in 4K.
>>55316419
so there is basically no point in light OC ?
>>55316521
Not really. It just boosts benchmarks and 1 FPS in games. I wouldn't OC at all if you don't see any improvements. A 390 is already a hellish OC'd 290, it doesn't do much more. If you need more performance buy a 1070 or 490 later.
>>55316593
yeah, im getting married in two months, and after that im spending all my fucking money on new gpu.
be it 1070 or some 1080ti, or 490 idc , just the strongest thing available.
>>55316739
A 390 is still decent. I wouldn't upgrade to anything lower than a 1070, but a 1080Ti will be nice, if you play past 1080p.
>>55317360
im staying at 1080p for a while, but im aiming at 144hz. as in i already have 1080p 144hz monitor and it would be nice to make use of it in something other than WoW.
