Semi related to macbooks
I bought a laptop recently without realising that like macbooks it has a non removable battery (fucking acer)
Obviously this battery will eventually just go to shit on me, has anyone taken out a non removable battery and used the laptop without it? Does it work like most removable laptops do ie when I take it out the laptop doesn't care and lets me use the laptop plugged in with no shit. I get the feeling it might pull some "no buddy you need a battery in here for me to work!" shit

Only real way is to find out for yourself. Most laptops these days won't boot without an "authorized" battery (Lenovo), though I'm not sure about the absence of one.

I got an iPad mini 2 for $40 bucks and it's laggier than my fucking nexus 7 (2013). the lag on the muntitasking view makes me want to puke. there's a lot of little graphical glitches too (for example, the scroll bar jumps around). it doesn't have as many animations as my nexus 7 either. the ui of the PRE-INSTALLED APPS vary a lot as well. you though Google was bad at consistency? you haven't seen NOTHING. what happened to the "polish"? I actually believed that ipads offered the best tablet experience. god I'm a fucking idiot. I deserve to die

I was in disk utility and went with the Erase option first. I thought I could install via the disk image that I was seeing in the sidebar. Turns out I can't and I should have made a bootable flash drive installer first.

I have an Acer from 2006 and it still works(gave it to my grandparents), an Acer from 2011 and it still works(probably, I sold it) and my current laptop is Acer as well. They are cheap and there are also working drivers for them(unlike Vaio for example) and they don't look like gaymen garbage. What's more to ask?
