Why are new phones cheaper on eBay than other websites? I want to buy one but I feel like I'm gonna get scammed
>>
Great question. Been wondering it myself.

My guess is they're not new.

With so many people buying them from such reputable eBay sellers, there's just no way they aren't telling the truth.

Or at least, that's what I want to think. Pic related deal ends in 16 hours and I really wanted the phone, but I'm very skeptical about their profit margins

Because
>>
>>55307819
There's not much to worry about, eBay practically always sides with the buyer in disputes.
>>
>>55307819
Ebay has your back if they try to scam you, go for it.
>>
I have bought my last two phones on ebay. The sellers claimed they were new but they definitely weren't. Still very very good condition phones I got for a fraction of their normal market cost. No regrets. Go for it.
>>
I'f you're worried about buying a new phone and getting used, just make sure to buy a listing that says brand new in box. If it comes in a different box or the factory box isn't sealed, return to sender.

>25% restocking fee just for opening the box

Would eBay come to my side in that case as well?

pls reply anons, they're running out but I'll buy one if I can at least check to see if there's a potato in the box before I lose 25% of my money
>>
>>55308500
I don't think they can charge you a restocking fee on eBay. But I could be wrong.
>>
>>55308500
You're good
>>
>>55308564
You are wrong, they can

and the restocking fee on this phone would be $118.

Fuck. That.
>>
>>55308642
They can't charge a restocking fee when you're returning because of a seller fuckup.
>>
>>55308642

I guess that's when you claim to never have received it in the first place. Restocking fees are a way to keep you from returning the item, that shit shouldn't even be legal, you either do returns or you don't.

No. Usually the one negative feedback is the only non-retard with a brain.
>>
Some replicas are sold
>>
>>55309052
Fucking this. Everybody gives 5 stars just for receiving the product, might as well switch to a thumbs up thumbs down system.

fuck

I really want this phone but I feel like it's a scam now

but if it's just a great deal then I've lost $100 and have to buy it from amazon or somewhere else
>>
>>55309109
Why not try it out? Worse comes to worst return it for a full refund.
>>
>>55308500
They'd probably drop or reduce it if you talked to them. Then if you open a dispute and they don't respond eBay will almost definitely force a refuned.
>>
>>55309109
Dude just buy it. He has almost 40,000 reviews and 100% positive. It's legit.
>>
My guess is that they buy from some small asian country with shit currency

You need to reevaluate your life.

Shitty purchase, an iPhone will last longer.
>>
Experienced eBay buyer/seller here.

First off, you need to make sure you're not getting an "international" version of a phone. Those are shit because A) no warranty and B) unlicensed parts. Most of the time international phones are outsourced to shitty manufacturers.

eBay sides with the buyer ALWAYS. It is almost impossible to get fucked by a well known seller. I have sold stuff through ebay and been scammed multiple times by buyers because of how fucked the paypal/ebay system is. So there is absolutely no reason to worry as a buyer, you are protected.

If you're asking about the G5 in particular, the reason it's cheap is because it's a shit phone. Go look at online reviews and all you'll find is negative feedback after negative feedback.

>Most of the time international phones are outsourced to shitty manufacturers.
retarded
You think only US phones get good parts? And the rest of the world gets crap? Get a load of this guy

If you can save money on a international phone and it works on your carrier go for it.
>>
I bought two phones off ebay.
They both came in sealed boxes and appeared to be completely new.
Just make sure to check that it definitely says "new" not "refurbished" or "used"
>>
>>55310106
> Being a little consumer bitch
yes goyim, make sure to buy the latest devices
You totally need 10 cores and 6gb of ram in your phone
>>
>>55310201
Even if you get an international phone that works with your carrier you will almost always lack the bands specific for US carriers which in turn affects call and data quality.
>>
>>55310167

Phones from Hong Kong or South Korea generally cover more bands and come unlocked and without carrier bullshit.

Retard.

>40000 transactions
>100% feedback

If anything that is a red flag in itself no way you're going to have that many transactions without a single incident.

>Sell something
>Someone buys it
>Send the thing
>Someone likes it, rates 5 star and enjoy the thing
>Repeat 40000 times

It's not that hard anon.
>>
>>55310142
It'll also be shittier

>>55310219
Where did I say anything about specs? Both of those are bullshit. My phone's got a dual core CPU with 2GB RAM and is more than enough. Given I don't use lagdroid but still
>>
>>55310321
Why the fuck would you buy a yearly phone and not consider the specs?
>>
>>55310247
That's not true.
>>
>>55310334
Where the fuck did I say anything about buying a phone yearly?
