Hello /g/ I've never really owned a laptop before so I know fuck all about what is good and what is shit.
I'm going to have to buy a laptop for school soon, I'm almost exclusively going to program on it, it doesn't have to be anything great, it just has to work.
I'm trying to spend the absolute minimum amount possible and get a decent working laptop, what do you suggest? Help a retard out.
Hang yourself, it will literally solve all of your problems.
Or go to /wsr/. Either way is fine with us.

Thanks I think I'll go with the former.

If you'll be doing any kind of iOS development you'll need a mac. A 2009 macbook air would be fine. Here's a decent one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-2009-MacBook-Air-13-2-13GHz-C2D-128GB-SSD-2GB-MC234LL-A-/112041695997?hash=item1a16349afd:g:YoMAAOSwhOVXcuqE
If you'll only need to use windows and gnu/linux then a thinkpad t400 would be great. You can get one for about $80. I recommend upgrading the memory to 8GB. I think most will come with 4 as mine did. Also got a 160GB HDD in mine. If you need more space then buy an external drive. The 1TB ones on amazon seem to be the best value right now. Read reviews.
