actionscript already compiles down to javascript.
as3 is a solid language actually. great features and very nice to work with.
its all really the shitty flashplayer.
but dont worry. theres already several projects to recreate the flashplayer in js and html5.

Well, I use VK and if I go there music player uses Flash. If I keep it disabled it doesn't. Without it I get less resource consumption, and I eliminate a possible plugin crash.
