I'm looking to buy an HDMI switch, since I have 5 consoles sitting on my desk. However, I've seen some that advertise "4k compatible at 30fps/30hz".
That kind of raises a concern for me. Shouldn't all HDMI switches support 4k anyways? They mention 30fps at 4K, but they don't mention frame rate at 1080p. Is 60fps at 1080p supposed to be assumed?

4k at 30fps means HDMI 1.4.
Go look up what that means.

Interesting. From what I'm seeing, HDMI 1.4 maxes out at 24fps at 4K. While HDMI 2 is deliver 60fps 4K. I swear I've come across HDMI 2.2 and 2.4 earlier today, unless I'm mistaken. I've also seen a bunch of other terms I'm not familiar with, such as HDCP and DDWG. I'm gonna need a glossary by the end of this.

I would assume 1080p runs at 60 fps through these but I would check the exact specifications of what you are going to buy before purchasing.

I bought a similar switch and I notice no drop in fps/hz at 1080p.
