So I took /g/'s advice and sold my 970 in preparation of the 480 but thanks to the embarrassing leaked benchmarks that have just surfaced that are already leading to AMD's downfall I'm now left without a graphics card. Should I just swallow my pride by crawling back to Nvidia and buy another 970 or risk it all again by trying a 390?

yea I can get it up to 1550mhz stable with minimal voltage boost. Drives a single 1440p display with no issues. As long as it can continue to give me 60fps, ultra settings, 1440p, in Dark Souls 3 when the DLC comes out, I'll be happy.

490 is going to be in between 1070 and 1080, if it scales out in line with the 480
We dont know anything about it except that Vega10 apparently is the smaller of Vega11 (the reverse of P11 being the smaller of P10), has the same shaders/tmu/rops as the FuryX. We don't know if the 490 is a cut down full Vega, we don't even actually know if Vega has two different chips, and judging from Nvidia's launch availability disaster just at 320mm die sizes it's a safe bet that ~600mm2 limit chips will be far away from now and for a heavy pocket.
My guess is that "Vega" will be the 490 and something above it, perhaps they will use the 490X branding?, and the Fury successor will come as Navi next year to cope with both 14nm and HBM2 yields.

The polish shit site got a shit binned chip but at least this shows the realism of overclocking the RX 480 as other leaked sources got cherry picked ones doing 15-20% OC. A 5% OC is much more in line with previous generation safe overclocks. If a majority of the binned RX 480's only do 5% we are going to have a lot of sore assed AMD fans wonder why they can not make their cards OC past the performance of a 970 OC'd.

I plan to use it for like 6 months until the vega 10 chip comes out. Why? because the 290 is fucking hot as shit and uses tons of electricity. It's like 10$ extra a month.
