I guess you're refering to "crackers".
>>
>>55292760
This. Please stop with the normie terminology.
>>
>>55292687
Hackers aren't anything. They are people who happened to use technology or social skills to gains information that would otherwise be inaccessible. Usually the way they gain access to this information is through the easiest path possible, probably having something to do with human error (Employers who don't follow protocol or leave shit around they shouldn't). Basically, its fraud. They aren't badasses. On the contrary really: the only way they find success is through the failure of others. Hackers are pathetic cucks basically.

Everyone calls crackers hackers nowadays. If you wanna feel like a hipster snowflake feel free to do so.
>>
>>55293259
Everyone is wrong,
>>
haven't you ever committed a petty theft OP, or even left your car parked without paying the meter? have you ever done anything remotely close to being "above" a system in the sense that you are free to do as you please despite its explicit will against you doing so?

this type of feeling is one of near entitlement, in which the hacker/purpotrator feels a certain sense of "rightness" in themselves being "on top" of the system because of the sheer ability to do so

I don't think I'm better or worse than anyone else. I put my pants on one leg at a time. The only reason why I get called a hacker is because I enjoy gaining unauthorized root access on smartphones. I work as a Vulnerability Research Engineer. I'm a simple guy with a simple life. I sure do hope this meme dies soon.

They believed the lies and flattery sycophants sell.

Do you mean valley "hackers"? Iit's the smoke blown up their ass by the people who want to get rich off their back. Or if they got rich/famous, from their ass-kissers.

Or computer security "hackers"? Decades ago, before security research was taken seriously, it was relegated to counterculture. At lot of justifiable chips on shoulders at the time. But they published online in front of impressionable kids that thought breaking into computers sounded cool. They took the message and turned the fact they knew how to break the law into unwarranted self importance.

Either way they let someone stroke their ego with lies. It went to their heads.

heh. you think youve got what it takes to be a hacker? nice try, kid. i bet you cant even turn your macbook on without mommy and daddys help, huh? I bet you don't even have your desktop riced like mine, fucking newfag. just because I take pity on you, and only because I take pity in you, I'm going to tell you how to actually be a hacker. the first thing you have to do is download the torrent browser and start surfing the deep web. be careful down there <thats another deep web joke, amature>, you dont know what youre doing and you arent prepared for what you might see. the second thing you have to do, is to join an underground deepweb hacker collective, no lone wolf ever took down a sheep by its self. youre almost there. you should stop using apostrophes or proper punctuation because when youre constantly running and editing javascript scripts and uploading trojan viruses to scrubs harddrives, you dont have time to type like a new fag. if you don't follow that step youre going to be ripped apart in the seep web like a five dollar bill in a sinagog. next you have to install linux and change your display settings to high contrast number 2, nobosy will take you seriously otherwise. finally, and this is the most important, dont ever tell anyone you meet on the clearweb the things you have seen on the other side, we dont need that kind of publicity. if you want actual advice on hacking , you should go to 00101111 01110010 01110010 01100011 01100011 00110101 01110101 01110101 01110101 01100100 01101000 01101000 00110100 01101111 01111010 00110011 01100011 00101110 01101111 01101110 01101001 01101111 01101110 . if you dont know what any of those numbers mean, you dont have what it takes to be a hacker. sorry, but not everyone is cut out for it. thats just the way the game works.

Because they are federal agents trying to bait other hackers into their realm (Snitch IRC channel, private messaging, ect).

No joke. Literally every (criminal) hacker you've ever heard of bragging on twitter or w/e is a federal agent or informant/snitch/rat.

Real 'hackers' are here:

OK, the first half of your post is 99% correct.

"If you ever meet a hacker on the road, kill them." -a Buddhist

Fuck you and Eric Raymond and the rest of those goombas trying to misappropriate the word hacker. That asshole roots Linux servers all the time just like the rest of those hackers. They like open source because if they find a bug they can fix it and recompile their own version to not be vulnerable. They like open source because if they contribute code to a project they can insert a really difficult to find bug (see obfuscated C contests) and get backdoor access without having to do blackbox testing or source code analysis. That whole movement should die for being fake ass autist bullshit.

No idea what you are talking about.

There's no secret group organized by Gerald J Sussman and Raymond putting 'backdoors' into open source so they can control the world. I suggest you install TempleOS if you have such concerns and never connect to 4chan again.

Something i don't understand is that there being so many "hackers" out there, and so many of them claim to care about politics, and yet we almost never see leaked shit from politicians or rich people, fucking betas.

State backed hacks don't count.
