Do you guys know about this piece of technology ? It's a cool console you can program games for, it is using arduino hardware and costs about 40 euros shipping + micro sd + usb cable + pouch inclueded. You can use it for other purposes than gaming such as controlling a robot or measuring temperature thanks to its I/O pins.

Shit. Just that. Shit.

This might be just me but why not program games for a pc instead?

The answer to the meaning of life.
>Paying more than 5$ for an arduino.
the chip isn't worth 3$ and all the supporting hardwire is cheap as shit.
You can get the same deal for what 10$ with a bit of DIY and knowhow. You can program the chip directly with a serial port. so that cuts costs on chips as well.

for that money, why not a Pi Zero?
Looks like an amusing hobby project.

You would need to add a screen, buttons and it's not cheap
>>55289678
It's simpler

>40 euros
Too much for this thing.

meh, I wouldn't want to waste my time learning to program games in some meme library on some meme hardware. A raspberry pi would basically do the same thing as long as I provide the screen/controller, and be way more versatile, powerful, and ultimately allow for the creation of better games.

I was actually thinking about building something similar (although way simpler, obviously) during the summer. A display, a microcontroller, some buttons, maybe a buzzer and you're set.
Buy an esp8266 cheaper than arduino and better specd also works as wifi ap and client sooo

>how to learn absolutely nothing
Build your own device and actually learn a thing or two about IO.
I've got one but I'm too lazy to program anything for it.

Arduboy is more kawaii.
