Sup /g/, today you have the opportunity to design your perfect smartphone. You can combine ideas from existing smartphones, or submit original ideas. The rules are simple:
> Has to be made using existing technologies
> Must be a consumer product, i.e. retail price has to be under $1000

Categories include: Design, display, processor, RAM, storage, battery, camera, audio, expandability, software, connectivity, communications, other (sensors, etc)

My perfect smartphone:
> Design
Based on the Moto X Pure/Style 2015, same exact design except in a 5.5" form factor. Add a fingerprint sensor on the back dimple and upgrade to Gorilla Glass 4 on the front. On the back the same material only removable (but does not come off too easily).
> Display
2560 x 1440 5.5" AMOLED Display (On par with Samsung Super AMOLED)
> Processor
Snapdragon 820
> RAM
4 GB or 6 GB
> Storage
64 GB or 128 GB
> Battery
3600 mAh with Fast/Turbo Charging and Wireless Charging
> Camera
Back - 21 MP, OIS, HDR, fast processing, LED Flash
Front - 12 MP, LED Flash
> Audio
Two front facing stereo speakers like the Moto X Pure/Style
> Expandability
Removal back, with access to replaceable battery, dual SIM tray and two high speed microSD up to 1TB
> Software
Prerooted ROM based on CyanogenMod optimized for customization, multiple kernel support, and completely optimized for the hardware
> Connectivity
USB Type C with Fast/Turbo Charging and 2.5mm headphone jack
> Communications
Full support for Western and Eastern networks, latest WiFi 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, Bluetooth, NFC, IR Blaster, Mobile Hotspot, Wireless Charging, FM/AM Radio antenna, GPS
> Other
4 proximity sensors in lieu of Moto X Pure/Style, Accelerometer, Waterproof

Can't think of anything else for now, but would gladly take suggestions.

Software
>Fast and responsive at every load like I load it at the first time
>Designed different from modern flatness
>Text isn't placed every two words per screen
Too bad it'll rocket prices for this smartphone, so I can only dream.
>>
iPhone 6 (fuck 6s) - I never experienced anything smoother from performance side.
>>
>>55285368
The point is you take a phone and improve it. ie iPhone 6s with a 1920 x 1080 AMOLED and front facing speakers or something
>>
>>55285346
Elaborate?
>>
>>55285440
Imagine software what works every time.
Devs can't do hidden shit because it should nice and fast every time.
Devs can't sell new software because this version works just fine every time and you wouldn't think to buy new versions.
So they will try to compensate software stability with high prices so no one could buy it in sane mind or if anyone buys it, they could live for years from just one purchase.
I don't look for someone behind it because producing stable software is against any businessman mind.

I can tell you are not a native English speaker due to the cute ways you word some things. Where are you from?
>>
>>55285849
Android upgrades are generally free and I think iOS too for a long time by the way. But I get what you're saying about having a solid, fast, streamlined OS. That's one thing iOS does well, but it's other flaws make it not so worth it.

A phone where the torch app doesn't refuse to work if you don't give it access to calendar, contacts, make and receive calls, send emails and take photos.

That was fixed with Marshmallow :)

Dude just buy a 6P.

The perfect smartphone would be the iPod Touch 5/6 form factor, but actually a phone (and with OK battery life). They make even the iPhone 5/SE seem bulky and heavy by comparison.
>>
>>55286313
I like the size and design of the Nexus 6 a lot more than the 6P.

6P doesn't have a microsd slot so it's immediately trash.

BlackBerry Q10

>what I'd change
Add a trackball between screen and keyboard (no toolbelt though)
Add small internal battery for hotswapping batteries
Switch to USB 3
Upgrade screen from 720x720 to 1280x1280
>>
>>55286426
Forgot one

Upgrade to BlueTooth 5

I just want a Redmi Note 3 that works on T-mobile's ghetto network

warp elite is better, it has a bigger battery.

Also I think nfc is a meme, a credit card/debit card with a chip + some cash is good enough.
>>
>>55287697
NFC's not just for paying for stuff
>>
>>55287744
What does NFC do better than good old Bluetooth or wifi-direct (ie superbeam)?
>>
>>55287776
Initiates Bluetooth transfers without having to pair
NFC tags
>>
>>55285255
>4 GB or 6 GB
>Front camera
>CyanoMeme
>USB Type C with Fast/Turbo Charging and 2.5mm headphone jack

Are you a girl?

Nexus 6 was pretty close. I'd make the screen a bit smaller (around the size of the s7 edge), add an sdcard, and ip68 resistance. Perfect phone
>>
Thicker BlackBerry Priv with an 820, 6 GB of RAM, 4500 mAh battery, and capacitive buttons on the keyboard tray.
But that isn't going to happen, is it?

A Moto X (2013) but with 2x Cortex A73 and slightly larger battery (~3000mah).

An OS that actually work android 6.0 is the most unstable garbage I ever used even windows me was more stable.
>get an iPhone
I want a smartphone not a glorified jap phone from the 2000s

~6" 3:2 AMOLED
4W 2c/4t Kaby Lake
>=3600mAh battery
64gb storage
4gb lpddr4
no front camera
gnu/linux even if it just ubuntu
>>
You know what'd be the perfect phone? One that isn't botnet shit.
>>
Perfect phone you say?

>5.5" 1080p OLED display, shatterproof.
>"Fast Enough" SoC (Snapdragon 810 or better, maybe an Exynos of sorts)
>4GB of RAM (DDR4 is best, since it's newer)
>64GB with MicroSD expansion
>6000mAh battery. Yep.
>Industry leading camera with OIS and good low-light performance (same as Galaxy S7 or whatnot)
>Front facing stereo speakers
>Removable Battery
>Fingerprint sensor (maybe integrated into the power button like Sony phones)
>Headphone Jack
>802.11 dual-band a/b/g/n/ac
>LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 17
>GSM
>CyanogenMod with no bloat and minimal GApps (Play Store, Mail, Messages, Search w/Now, Maps/Navigation)

And make that bitch as thick as you need for that delicious battery I don't even give a fuck. I don't care too much about the design either but something like the Moto X or Zenfone 2 or etc. wouldn't be too bad. Nice curved body and so on with exchangeable back plates for customization. Frankly this should be doable for $499, and I'd pay that much for it easily.
>>
>OnePlus 3 but with all the cut corners replaced
Uh, I guess.
>>
>>55285938
>512 mb of RAM
>Discontinued
>>
>>55287634

Honestly, why is this design apparently impossible to build? No excuses.
