I seem to be the only person who hates iOS GUI, I know it's very accessible and understandable for the average person but I hate the lack of customization, the bright colours, and the glossy rounded square icons and everything being semitransparent panes and sliding all over the place. Stock android isn't perfect either but at least you can add your own launchers and icon packs and make it your own. I'm not saying iOS should have that because the whole point is that it's standardized but I much prefer how my android looks.
And no I'm not defending the OP, I have an OPO and the hardware capacative buttons are the best because you can get rid of the onscreen ones.

What's the problem with moving away from skeuomorphisms towards a design that utilizes and embraces the affordances created by the digital part of our world? Flat design is the culmination of reducing data to the necessary, which in countless studies was faster to grasp than photorealistic counterparts. Even the task switch button on Samsungs only got changed down when new phones arrived. Like even when the old ones received firmwares, the button stayed the same. (long press home to switch task).
