Should I just get Windows 10 or is it better to stay on Windows 7 forever?

Tbh. I was really worried about 10. I clean installed and found it to be better than 7. I'm not too worried about "Spyware" since 7 isn't any better in that regard. I am legitimately enjoying 10. Though sticking with 7 might be the preferred for others and that's fine if you're not a gaymer (a bunch windows 10 exclusives soon).

Do you remember back in the day when you would get a virus on your computer that would have a bunch of pop up advertisements on your desktop? Basically, Microsoft went ahead and just integrated that into windows 10. It's in everything. Microsoft Edge. Start Menu, Start Search, Start Page, everywhere.

I tried it. It accepts inputs only for 3-4 seconds then nothing (though the circle on cursor is still moving). Minimise it, maximise it, and again 3-4 seconds of usability then none.

I came here to be redpilled on W10 before June 29th hit and your comment is pretty much exactly how I feel. So what reason is there to willingly accept W10 onto my bosom right now? Saving a minute amount of money a year or two into the future is hardly a convincing reason.

Windows 10 LTSB. STill shit but comes with less crap than standard editions.

Telemetry is turned off by default and related updates can be removed. Prove me wrong.

Stay on Windows 7. Better yet, reinstall Windows 7 and 8 and this time do it with selective updating so that you aren't installing the win10shit too.

Windows 10 is complete garbage, you can't turn off all the botnet (which I don't particularly care about) but it always breaks after time using it in one way or another, it's bloated as shit, the WiFi latency I get is always shit on the machines I've tried windows 10 on because of the constant microshill communications it does - that is the only way the botnet shit negatively affects me.

Win7/8 without win10 and telemetry updates is 10x cleaner, runs much better and doesn't break if you aren't stupid. Unless you don't play games, then just get Linux.

It's free for a reason. They even admit offering it to known pirated unactivated versions. If you can't see why they would do that, go ahead, "up"grade, you deserve to be together

As a sys admin that's had this main PC on Windows 7 for 2 years, downloading necessary updates.. Never had a virus on it.. Not once have I seen any connections or data being sent between places that shouldn't be

I have a bunch of games + over 5 years old semi-obscure hardware-related software etc. running on Win10 rather smoothly. The machine in question is pretty old itself too

Go for Loonix.

I installed win10, everything was fine until the latest update that literally prevents me from setting anything but Explorer or Edge or some shitty $10 pajeet-made browser as my default browser.

how do i debloat windows 10? how do i get my start menu like that?
>>
>>55282673
You can't. Classic shell

You can. Right click all of the panels on the right individually and remove them. Once there's no tiles left, close and open the menu, boom.
>>
>>55282673
Go to https://gentoo.org/downloads/,
then follow one of this guides: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Handbook:Main_Page.
You should also delete your Windows partition. Good luck

I actually have a parallels install of 7, 8.1 pro, and 10 set up for the sole use of visual studio. just installed 10, and i'm in the honeymoon period now. how do i make this feel last forever, brehs?
>>
>>55282811
i should note that my windows 7 install takes 20gb, after i debloated it, my 8.1 install takes 14gb, but my windows 10 takes only 11gb. who would have thought?

i'm on an SSD, so i care about space a little

Where can I get an Enterprise and/or Education version of Windows 10?
I did all the anti-spy shit on a Pro install, but I'm sure it's all in vein.

And the next update will just reinstall all of it and you'll have to do it again (along with uninstalling some of your programs and resetting defaults)

i was at win 10 few months ago but i went back to 8.1 after it did a forced update
>>

7 or 8 with selective updates.
>>
>>55282673
What do you mean by "bloated" all the pre-installed windows programs are removable with one line in powershell. You can disable Cortina via registry edits.
