So I just inherited a mid 2014 retina macbook pro, and have had problems getting the wireless working under linux.
Anyone here had any success? I've gone down a number of paths trying to set it up (on several different distro) but can't figure it out. I'm still pretty shit at linux, but only because "it just worked" on all the other computers i've used it on.

Macbook and other Mac family laptops are usually use broadcom chipset as a wireless device, and it needs binary blob. I think the page below can help you:
