My first impulse would be to go for a full AMD rig, since I'm really not into the prices of Intel. Fuck, only a CPU of theirs costs the same here as my whole computer.

My pre-upgrade rig cost about 550$ and it runs all games fine. Planning on getting the 480

It probably will, but I'm not getting a new CPU as well. I just want to 1080p games for a few years. I OC'd it to 4.1GHz and it's fine.

Also, I'd spring for the 8GB version, gives more place for textures in the future. and the price difference is about 40$ IIRC
