This looks like a shitposting thread so I don't feel bad going off topic.
So apparently Microdick updated Visual C++ to be Win10 "exclusive" but offered some fixes for other OS users as well, which would be fine and dandy except I have pirated 8.1 that's uh, pretty much as old as 8.1. So I can't actually download the hotfix which means I can't actually use Visual C++ which means Dolphin 5.0 doesn't work. And I really wanna play Rogue Squadron II.
So this means I gotta update 8.1, and I'd rather not pay for it, and I definitely don't wanna upgrade to 10, so anyone know any legitimate ways to update an illegitimate OS without Microsoft detecting it and turning my OS into a 6 month trial version?

I've found a few sites promising to give me an undetectable KMS but the Gimp tier website layout and broken English makes me more than hesitant to actually use them.

tl;dr how do I update pirated 8.1. Update, not upgrade.

On mobile the Chrome based engine paired with AdBlock would be awesome.
But.

You need to enable Turbo to have AdBlock. So it gets like 5x times slower than Firefox with uBlock.

On desktop, its just a Chrome clone.

>>55265723
Just use ublock then? It's chromium based on both desktop and mobile, its advantage is vastly better UI.

>>

I know, but that shouldn't be relevant. You're on /g/, start using a real OS.
>>
>>55270389

But Windows IS real OS. Runs everything you might need for work or entertaiment, while Linux wont run some specialist software that, for example, engineers/sciencists might need or games, if you like that form of spending free time.
>>
>>55270418
Keep telling yourself that.
>>
>>55270435

But its true. Linux distros dont have good CAD type of software. They dont have anything like Origin. They wont run games newer than those using Dx9 and Wine is far from perfect in that situation.

I dont say that Linux dont have uses, but when one OS is a hammer and other screwdriver, you cant just run around delcaring that you dont need hammer, because you can adjust your screwdriver to work like clunky hammer.
>>
>>55270389

Don't act like everyone and their mother uses Photoshop and AutoCAD on a daily basis. Most people aren't PC gaymurs so that's not valid either. If you are, there's always dualbooting or a VM with PCIe passthrough
>>

>No home button

Try again
>>
>>55270609

And you dont act like everybody can just drop Windows and use Linux distros instead.

>If you are, there's always dualbooting

Then why not just running one OS, if it can satisfy your needs?

>or a VM with PCIe passthrough

Not very popular solution. Still, using one OS solely to run VM is kinda pointless.

I had Linux partition at home and at work. It was fun experiment for a while, then I switched slowly back to Windows, after I noticed how often I would need it instead to do my work. Basically, the only thing I could do on Linux, was browsing the net, ricing and doing some spreadsheet stuff.

Again, I dont deny uses for Linux - I will however oppose everytime someone claims that everybody should drop Windows because Linux does everything and better. Not everything.

It would sure sound funny to, for example, tell my mother to go to /v/ or call her needs "shit", because Linux wont run her accounting-related software or my needs, because I need Origin and several soft made at my work that require Windows to run and nobody even have source code anymore.

Sometimes, Linux fanatics sounds more like religious zealots.

>>
>>55271354
Like I said, dualbooting and virtual machines are both things.
>>
>>55271375

Basically, I keep saying that Windows satisfy my needs that Linux cant and you say that I should dualboot instead or run VM. Like example with screwdriver and hammer, I say that I need hammer and it suits my needs and you keep saying that hammer is not needed, because screwdriver can be adjusted with piece of iron to work as a hammer, albeit not as good.

Again, whats the point of using different OS A to run OS B in VM, if you can just use B in first place? Simply why complicate things that can stay simple?
>>
>>55271497
Because you should use OS A for everything you can and OS B for only what you need.
