How's the firmware between TP-LINK and Netgear? Is Netgear good, or bloated gamertrash? The Netgear R7800 is just the next hardware revision of the TP-LINK C2600, but is it worth the $100 increase?

I haven't used that netgear router, but all netgear routers i have had except the WNR3500L were shit with stock firmware.

I see no reason in using stock tp-link or netgear firmware over DD-WRT\tomato\openWRT. So if you think it is same hardware - buy cheapest and just use bestWRT
