I'm looking to buy either a Raspberry Pi 3 B or a Pine64. Thoughts on both?
>>55244852
Neither.
ODROID-C2 is the way to go.
>>55244852
Buy a RPi, sell it after brexit and raspberry pis go extinct and buy 2 beaglebone blacks
>>55245228
This, ODROIDS have way better specs
>>55245380
They're also more free.
Does PINE A64+ respect my freedoms?
>>55245531
All Odroids are fatally flawed.

That doesn't say anything about the ODROID C series boards. The ones listed on FSF are the models that use the Exynos SoC. C series does not use that chipset
>>55246765
Wrong series, guy.
>>55244852
>pine64
yeah, no.
>allwinner
>shit quality

is there a board with a sata port on it? or will i have to buy a usb adapter if i get one?
not op just a curious man
Pine64 has an soc from Allwinner, so, like all main land Chinese hardware, the copy of the Linux kernel provided by the SoC maker has backdoors. The documentation on the other hand is excellent, use for kernel hacking or embedded systems type stuff. Do not use the Allwinner provided kernel under any circumstance. The raspberry pi 3 has terrible manufacturer provided documentation as does the other rpi's.

Raspberry Pi if you actually want community support and more OS and software support
