>Lack of backlit keyboard always presented as a major flaw
Why is this /g/? Why do people care so much? Can't you just turn the light on? Or even better, learn to type properly?

I mean backlights for me wouldn't be necessary, but they would be useful when I don't have the lights on. For "gaming" keyboards, I guess the backlights have to be there, for the aesthetics. For now though, I just pull my curtain aside, gotta get some sun, you know?

Laptops have weird keys that are unique to themselves and generally aren't present on standard keyboards. Normally for most gaymers we already know how to touch type so the backlit keyboard is just a courtesy that is nice to have on non-standard configurations.
My Thinkpad T410 has a small LED light which illuminates the keyboard. Looks kind of goofy.
They jewing the keyboard lol, asus lenovo and acer always do this no fucking backlit in current year.

1 LED that lights the whole keyboard as well as anything in the general vicinity of the laptop > ~100 LEDs lighting each key individually
doesn't look gaudy as fuck like OP's pic, either.
