Why?
Ive been using Libre for years and love the hell out of it but it's been crashing lately and scaring me with this recovery bullshit. At one time it recovered my book and fucked it over. Basically my entire work went up in flames. Luckily, I had a backup but it was so far back that I had to try and recreate 1/2 of it. I got the prev installer/update (still fucking downloading "Computing Space Requirements" been doing this for almost 15 minutes I think) and I got Open office. It's basically doing the same thing. Why do these take so damn long to install? Then again, I am on an 8 year old PC that's a pieace of shit.
What does /g/ think?
I'm gonna give Calligra a try but honestly it feels like all office software just sucks

Fuck office applications, they are just dumbed down versions of other applications
Use a proper document preparation system like LaTeX instead of word
Use a proper data processing program like r instead of excel

i dont need all the fancy shit it comes with, just writer. Which is whyI do a custom install
So heres something stupid. Been trying to get Libre to install, in the amt of time I've been working on that, Open Office worked out faster, and nicer than the other one. However, I don't like the page setup. Aside from that I tried to get Libre to work and when I got to the end it wanted me to uninstall the last version when I had removed it completely. Like what? it then would not let me install that version. WTF?
