THANK YOU BASED INTEL

>The current pricing of the Intel SSD 540s makes my recommendation quite simple: don't buy.
>>55236231
>AMDshill site tells me to not buy a Intel product
I have a 4 year old Samsung PM830 (based on the 830 series, obviously) that outperforms this brand new Intel.
I thought SSD technology was supposed to improve over time, not go backwards, good lord.
Doesnt matter whats in the ssd if the controller is dogshit. Im gonna laugh when 3D Xpoint turns out to be a flop.
>>55236216
Did you even read the review? Bottom-tier performance while somehow charging a premium for it. How is it in any way based?
>>55236298
Intel's 3D XPoint based SSDs and DIMMs will come out next year, I'm saving now to get a system with them
>>55236343
Intel firmware is based
>>55236495
Based indeed.

>TLC
it's already shit m8
>>55237006
>Usage
>Consumer/Gaming
>Gaming
What.
>>55237219
Ignore that, What you need to be looking at is the max read write cycles.
TLC is shit, Never ever buy a TLC SSD.
>>55237006
So I should have picked SLC instead of MLC when I bought my first SSD 6 years ago?
Also, those types doesn't matter anymore since we have V-NAND/3D thing that are really better, right?
>TLC
DOA
O
A
>>55237300
>>55238299
what's wrong with TLC?
The Samsung 850 Pro has been the king for how long now? Why haven't there been any improvements at the same price point?
>>55239887
850 uses V-NAND you nincanpoop
>>55239913
The sm961 just arrived.
M2. Insane performance and 1tb for $500
I myself have the 850pro 512gb. It epic
>>55239947
do you even know what V-NAND is? you can make a V-NAND ssd with SLC, TLC or MLC
>>55238276
No MLC is fine. eMLC is better though if you can afford it.
>>55236257
the performance/price is shit for that intel.
Are they simply experimenting or are they going full meme?
Damn it to hell, I was thinking of getting the 540s too, but it supposedly doesn't have power loss caps.
My MX100's health is deteriorating quite faster than I expected even though I try damn hard not to write too much to it.
>>55238276
You can't even find consumer SLC drives anymore, the largest they came in was like 64GB and they were expensive as shit.
>>55244515
there were a few drives back then that were 30gb or 50gb scratch discs that boosted something like 2 million writes or something like that.
>>55245976
Yeah first gen Intel SSDs were amazing.
Why do people meme about tlc? The 850 evo is tlc and will outlast most mlc drives.
