It really doesn't sound like mpv should not be able to seek them.
>>

They're huge and I have slow internet connection. File identifies them as "MPEG sequence, v2, program multiplex". Mplayer identifies it as "MPEG-PS". MPV does not report any specific format but uses lavf demuxer. MPV will attempt to seek but go to incorrect times and end playback prematurely. Reported time is also incorrect. But I just discovered that dragging the GUI seek bar allows normal seeking. MPV version is 0.14 from Debian unstable.

Interpolation is shit. It's literally only useful for the rare few people who don't have a monitor that can sync to an integer multiple of the frame rate. Try forcing your monitor to 48Hz or 72Hz, eg. with xrandr. It's likely to work even if it's not listed in the EDID.

Personally MPC-HC is my least favorite of the reigning video players (also including VLC) because it seems to have the most trouble handling broken or unusually-encoded files. I'm also not a fan of windows-98 style interfaces (MPV is more like quicktime, vlc is its own thing).

>>
>>55244170
no, that's because the US banned intel from selling xeon and xeon phis to china you fucktard

>intel backdoors
Oh please. Intel couldn't backdoor their CPUs if they wanted to. I mean, intel is a company that's full of shit and does more than enough shady crap, but a CPU “backdoor” in the sense you're probably envisioning (i.e. giving some other party full access to your machine over the internet) is not really a thing that's realistic.

At best, you have stuff like intel AMT which only enterprise mainboards have, and only when enabled, and which is implemented with such massive amounts of shitty code that it's basically impossible to *not* notice it's on (think: crap like duplicate IP replies since it piggybacks on the NIC but does it wrong)

And besides, this is all stuff that generates fully detectable, readable network packets. There's no stealth voodoo magic going on - it's very publicly and very visibly documented.

The only thing intel could possibly do is stuff like weakening RDRAND artificially to try and inject weak keys into public systems, but that's about it. If you don't use RDRAND or other “randomness” instructions, you wouldn't have a problem with it. Even intel has to make the rest of their CPU deterministic...
>>
>>55244223
I saw these backdoors in action.
Intel said the CPUs were exchanged by someone else during transport.

However a lot of constructors cheat all the time for profit:

The solution might just be to stop using hwdec. hwdec is only really needed if you want to save power on a laptop, or if you have a really underpowered CPU (unlikely since most desktop CPUs from the era when H.264 hardware decoding was being introduced were powerful enough to software decode H.264.) On modern desktop hardware, it's more trouble than it's worth, which is why it's off by default in mpv. Even when it works, it tends to give worse results with damaged files and in some cases it's not even faster than software decoding (measured by the wall-clock time to decode a frame.)

Don't know what to tell you, make sure you're correctly setting the path to it.

For example if you're sure you put the file in
C:\Program Files\mpv\input-image.conf
, then you want the config to be
input-conf="C:\Program Files\mpv\input-image.conf"
>>
>>55253541
The input-conf option is global and can't be set per-file.
Error parsing option input-conf (option could not be parsed)
The reset-on-next-file option is global and can't be set per-file.
Error parsing option reset-on-next-file (option could not be parsed)

What profile are you putting that under?

That will happen if you put it under [extension.*] auto profiles. It shouldn't happen if you put that under [image] profile and open images with mpv --profile=image
>>
>>55253666
yeah i was testing using extentions.png to see if it worked that way

well the problem was that i wasn't using the cmd
there goes mpv as an image viewer
>>

That's what the .desktop file is for on Linux systems, so you can open images with it.

On Windows you could open images from Explorer with a batch script that just runs mpv --profile=image

or I could just use nomacs

Is this supposed to be how the zooming on MPV works?

No, it looks nothing like that here.

I bet you're using some shitty user shader that doesn't get cropping right.

Stop using shitty configs.
