Is LISP worth learning or is it just another meme language?
It's worth learning.
Every language that is not C, C++, Java, or Python, roughly in that order, is a meme language. Not because they are good or bad, but because 99% of enterprise code are in those languages, so good luck using anything else in the "industry".

>99%
Actually they only make up 42% of the industry

You're not gonna get a job doing lisp, if thats what you're asking. If you just want to give it a shot then its worth looking into
>>55231121
Still more likely to get a Lisp job than a Haskell, Rust or Go job

I learned it. It's great. I really really like it. I know common lisp though not scheme nor racket, although all are good languages
>>55231174
Probably because CL is still the highest level compiled/JIT language.
>>55231213
CL and scheme are basically two different languages. CL is like Python with macros and parens, Scheme is like Haskell with macros and parens.
(Yes you can have side effects in Scheme but it's very much designed to be functional, e.g. loops are tail calls.)

Yes. Like Forth or Rebol a.k.a. Red Language.
Learn something static as fuck instead.
is Chicken Scheme a good one to learn?
its been recommended in a few places because of its C compiler.

>because of its C compiler.
You're not going to be writing anything serious in Scheme. Pick any Scheme implementation and go do SICP.
I would actually recommend Guile because it has delimited continuations, but that just for playing around with.
