>tfw you realized both emacs and vi are heresy and only ed is the one true editor
Who else here /unironic use of ed/?
i use notepad++

>implying notepad can handle any tasks beyond a couple of megabytes without going down screaming

i embrace the mouse and use atom

Ed, like UNIX, was declared complete and utter crap by the very people who created it and originally championed its use, and only retarded fanboys still actually think it's good for anything.
Dennis Ritchie used acme on a plan 9 machine via drawterm on windows when he still programmed.
>vi is the standard UNIX editor you can find regardless of distro
>emacs and ed may not be installed
As a person who has to go to a variety of systems where I don't have root access or ability to make software changes consistently on numerous boxes on numerous distros, vi will ALWAYS be my choice for command line level text editing.

I don't get this "Plan 9 is not a UNIX" meme, it seems like an even more extreme stretch of the UNIX philosophy (like how even the CPU is a file)

What about nano then?
>>55226115
ed is required by the POSIX standard like vi is actually, the only distro I know doesn't bundle it is RedHat for whatever reason.
>>55225820
sorry I use VISUAL STUDIO CODE
>>55225820
It is the STANDARD

NANO MOTHERFUCKER DO YOU KNOW IT?
