If you want a laptop solely for desktop and never intend to use it for vidya, then Intel.
If you want it for light gaming get a laptop with a AMD apu, not sure of the models, but other anons will be able to link you to the latest chips
Wait for based Zen
I use Nvidia
Right now Intel is the only viable option for CPUs. You might want to wait for AMD's Zen, however, as it could turn out to be a banger.

intel right now unless you get a good deal on amd as most problems with amd are gaming related,
laptop its amd if you game intel if you dont, as amd will be stronger gpu while intel will be lower power.
in a few months, there is a good chance amd will redefine what is mainstream when it comes to cpus.
unless someone can tell me what an fpu heavy application is as apparently that's where amd's bottle neck will be, not in ipc or seed or power.
