Keep dreaming, delusional poorfag. Nobody wants AMD hardware. Their very name is toxic at this point. Even they know that, which is why they're trying to sneak the 480 under just the Radeon brand and avoiding mentioning it's from AMD on the boxes.

This time next year, after the failure of Zen, there won't be an AMD any more. And thank god for that.

AMDPOORFAGs always post this bullshit with zero evidence for it. If anything, without AMD bumbling around incompetently Nvidia won't have to spend as much on marketing, and as such will be able to spend more on R&D for new chips. AMD's very existence is holding technology back.

I did not quote ant thing "This is a quote" I posted a link. The GTX970 uses 3.5GB and the last .5 is controlled by another slower memory controller thats why the frames drop. If you use a SLi set up you still use the 4GB but after you get pas 3.5 you will slow down just like on a single card. If you want a 970Sli setup cool, do you. but even Nvidia said the last .5 runs on a slower controller. EVERY OTHER 4GB CARD DOES NOT DO THIS.

Nah, cause electricity is used for more than just computers, and the higher FPS the electricity is, the better it can power things, so if it's only a bit hot, electricity running at the standard 24FPS can run an air conditioner just fun, but if it's mid-summer and really humid, you might need a more powerful PSU in your house so that the electricity can run at 30 or even 60FPS, depending on how hot it is.
>>
>>55215884
I have to say I am disturbed that we are at a point where playing an FPS game is trying to be hyper realistic in the camera movement and body motion and using hands and feet when climbing, yet when you interrupt reloading a weapon, by changing weapon or whatever, it is still instant and when you go back to that weapon you start reloading again from the beginning.
If you drop the magazine out it shouldn't be there when you switch back. If you're half way putting a new RPG into your launcher you should either have to wait to pull it out again or lose it.
If you want instant change shit then aim to be more of an arena style game than realistic FPS.
>>
>>55215980
If you want as close to realism as possible, you don't go for Battlefield, you go for ARMA.

People who say Battlefield is realistic have never played an actual warsim.

That being said, offline, ARMA 3 runs pretty decently for me on Medium settings, which still looks really nice. It runs at like 45-50FPS in single-player campaign, but 25-30 in online MP matches.

Did I just step back into 2009 or did you really just use that argument? Now I know you've fallen for the meme of GTX. Don't worry, I too once fell for it and overspent on a older NVIDIA card over a new AMD because I thought the meme was true.
>>
>>55217229

lets see AMD has released the 1000 series with the 1070 and 1080 and still releasing drivers for the 9k while AMD only released their RX480 to compete with Nvidias market share. The 390 became almost twice as powerful after driver updats from launch. I agree Nvidia has better legacy updates then AMD but when they just released a new card and want to compete i cant comprehend how they would fuck up their driver support.
>>
>>55217269

I also fell for the Nvidia is more expensive because its higher quality meme. I used to own two Nvidia cards in my SLI setup and one of them broke unexpectedly for no reason. Got an ATI card thats been serving for me for years with no problem it looks like Nvidia has more quality control issues then AMD does.
>>
>>55217270
AMD also has much worse launch drivers. Look at how the hd7970 and 290x have progressed since launch.

It's not because of good drivers, it's because of less incompetent drivers. Considering AMD is a budget option, most people will also be using a weaker cpu and will suffer much more from driver overhead than shown in the benchmarks using a 6700k.

Until they fix their drivers, AMD is simply a poor choice right now. Crimson was a step in the right direction though, good on them.
>>
>>55217317
And don't get me started on Linux drivers...
A gtx650 could probably beat a 290x on Linux.
>>

>>

>>
>>55217347
A 650? I don't know. I think proprietary drivers and 960 can beat every single AMD card on Linux right now, that is unless I've missed new benches with AMDGPU Pro or something.

im too bored to search now but you can go into the origin ceo twitter page and see on his photo the system nvidia used to showcase their asynctimewrap feature...

they had a tri sli 1080 running and he said the middle one was for the physics.. and still the demo had stuttering..
people need to understand those kind of techs needs a high level of parallerism something that nvidia wont have till 2017/18 or at least when volta comes

no you stupid cunt that's absolutely not what it is. In "stupid cunt terms" - which is applicable to you, I guess - Single pass stereo uses the calculations for the one eye for the other eye as well. Instead of rendering a complete frame for each eye (which would mean doing a LOT of redundant calculations), it tries to reuse as much as possible. So you're basically just rendering for one eye and then do a little bit of processing (and rendering of reflections and stuff, I guess) for the other eye, drastically improving performance.

god i hate when people thinks that just because novidia names something with another name it literally means something new...

news flash
its ATW TECH that is what was missing from maxwell 2.0/1.0 and pre gen thats why they were so fucking BAD at it you cant do anything on vr without having some form of asynchronous timewrap involved aka 2 fucking pipelines one for the eye and one for the another one but that has still the cost of context switch which nvidia claims is below 1ms and for that they need to have async compute capabilities and well they dont..when a proper vr bench (is that even possible to do ? i dont know)comes this will be another fiasco for them

The RX 480 outperforms a GTX 980 in Directx 11 and a beats a GTX 980TI in Directx 12, and that's at stock clocks.

Once you OC it to 1500 MHz it's almost on par with a GTX 1070 in Directx 11 and outperforms it in Directx 12.

Nvidia got BTFO with this GPU.

And that's with the shitty reference cooler. AIB cards will easily achieve 1500 MHz clock rates and make pretty much any card from the 980 TI on down obsolete.
