It's like a VM or container. I don't give a shit whether the underlying hardware gets fixed vs replaced, it just needs to get running again so I can run my content on top of it. Whatever gets it done faster is the objectively better solution.
And Apple is even recycling broken chips for parts. So it's the environmentally preferred choice, if you're conscious about shit like that.

I had AppleCare and they replaced the logic board with another defective one 3 times on my Macbook Pro. There's a reason why they're facing multiple class action lawsuits. I'll never buy their overheating trash again.
