Millisecond response time
Contrast ratio

Which one do you value the most?

Resolution is pretty damn important although it has dimishing returns so jump from 1080p to 1440p is nowhere as impressive as jump from 720p to 1080.

Refresh rate is a meme and unless you're some highly competitive pro gayming athlete 60-oced 75Hz is more than enough

FPS has nothing to do with monitor

Response time is also a meme as long as it's decent enough. I'd rather have a 4k 8ms monitor than 1ms 1080p. You won't feel a difference either way.

Contrast/Brightness/Color reproduction is probably most important.
>>
4k 60hz on 40 inch is just heaven for me
>>
>>55185077
Where did you get a 40 inch 4k monitor?
>>
>>55185083
at a 40 inch 4k tv that does hdmi 2.0 store
>>

Refresh/FPS > Response > Resolution > Contrast

Although imo Refresh and FPS is the same in monitor for me.

How is it for gaming? inb4 >>>/v/

Also, do you snap 4 windows to either side, and is it actually useful? Thinking 4 Word docs, for example.

>>55185055

Higher PPI is great for gaming, since it in effect acts as supersampling, but yes, beyond 4K, just like 120 Hz, it won't matter much.
>>
>>55184978
it really depends on what its primary use is
for graphic editing resolution and contrast ration take top
for office work resolution and size of the monitor generally matter the most
for video games refresh rate matters most until it hits 60 hz, after which response time followed by resolution and then contrast ratio
i don't understand why you have fps on here at all, as that's software-dependent
>>
>Which one do you value the most?

A functional monitor, to be honest.
>>
Input lag of course
It is the only reason people stuck to CRTs until recently
>>
>>55185276
well the only games I play are UrT and sauerbraten, they do fine on 4k. I use it for coding and I enjoy how I can into 200 lines on the screen with Vim. Porn is so immersive I feel the dongs dangle close to my face and feel all awkward (but also horny xd)
>>
>>55185372
>Porn is so immersive I feel the dongs dangle close to my face

lel
>>
I watch a lot of anime so definitely the contrast ratio/color reproduction
Everything else is negligible
>>
>>55185055
>>55185306
Because obviously this is about video games. And I want to know what's most important. 4k PC gaming right now is basically stuck around 30FPS. So there's a trade off.

This, holy shit.

Only thing better would be the addition of 120/144Hz, honestly.

Refresh rate.

Never saw the appeal of ultra high res, I don't like big monitors and 1080p is more than sufficient.

The intense silky smoothness you get from more than doubling the standard framerate is worth every penny.
>>
>>55185546
It could with overwatch
>>

I need more than just that one game
>>

This

I recently bought a couple of dell U24's and love them

>Inb4 1080p
>Inb4 60hz
>Inb4 8ms

Why would I need more when I don't even game that often? Dell actually lists 8ms as the average response time, instead of the best case scenario, and it's nowhere near enough to ghost a 60hz screen. And please don't sound like that one fag

>It's better even if you don't notice it
>>
>>55187081
no you don't
>>
>>55184978
>Refresh rate
>FPS
Merge these two fucktard.
>>
>>55187366
I've had the u2414h, and I love the monitor.
Color accuracy is great (not in the meme gayming modes of course).
Minimal and barely noticeable ips glow.
>that sleek design

I feel no need for anything more. I realize the benefits of higher refresh rate, but it's not something i absolutely must have.
Don't notice ghosting at all.

The only thing i mind is the temporary burn in.

How people can use TN's for anything other than gaming is beyond me.
>>
>>55187715

Mines are the 17's, that switched to the samsung's PLS panels. I was worried I'd lose some color accuracy, but they are great. Had to tone down brightness and contrast a bit though, were hurting my eyes at stock settings.
>>
>>55188219
TFTcentral has everything you need (i have found their rgb/contrast/brightness settings to be great and easy on the eyes).

I lowered the brightness all the way to 33%.
>>
>>55188275

Really? I didn't notice them showing custom settings when I checked. Might be worth it going back for a second look
>>
>>55185034

I have the cash for a 144hz monitor, but own only one GTX780 oced.

Worth it?
>>
>>55184978
Resolution > Contrast > Refresh rate = FPS > Response time
>>
>>55188348
It's almost the same as with the 2414.

Brightness: 30
Contrast: 75
RGB: 99/100/95

There is also the icc uploaded.
>>
>>55184978

It's all equally important. If using the computer for mainly general use choose resolution and contrast ratio. If gaming, response time and refresh rate should be chosen. Any enthusiast system should have them all equally proportioned. I use a 144hz 1440p IPS panel so it's decent at everything. The only thing I could ever skimp on in my use is resolution.
>>
>>55188546

Interesting, on mine I'm running brightness 45 and contrast 70, can't precise which rgb values I've set right now. I'll see to it when I get home
>>
>>55184978
1.response
2.refresh & fps
>>

shit thread
>>
>>55189546

Wait, someone will reply saying that's the same as response time
>>
resolution > color reproduction > size > view angles > input lag > refresh rate

My current one is 40" 4K with VA-panel. I want ~32" 4K IPS
>>
>>55185447
I thought people were pushing 8k now

and frame timing was really the thing melting CPUs

Matte ips/mva with standard dpi (1080p@22" 1440p@27" 4k@39") and non pwm backlight.
Dont care about gaming and professional graphics shit.

Just like League of Legends?
>>
1. color gamut
2. resolution
3. viewing angles (not much of an issue anymore)
>>
>>55185077
I own the same monitor, I'd never go back to smaller or any lesser resolution. People who moan about 4k as a meme clearly have never actually owned anything like this.
>>
>>55186854
>I've never seen the point in superior things

You're being silly
>>
>>55190024
I'm actually really enjoying my VA panel, having proper black is something I don't think I could live without now, I couldn't stand the light leak on iOS despite the superior colour
