Save your self the money and just get an automatic dick vacuum. More entertainment value.
>>55184719
ok scrap the i3 and get a AMD A10 5800K
for your budget the A10 would give you better performance than that i3

This is the alternative build with an i5. Without the GPU this is $420 (blaze it)
Or like in the OP ($370)
>i3
>responds well to overclocked RAM, so a more expensive z170 mobo with overclocked RAM is used
tl;dr
Spend more on the i5 while skimping on the RAM and mobo, or get the i3 for $50 less and a better mobo?
>>55184973
a better mobo isn't going to give you better performance
most motherboards just work, OEMs use bottom of the barrel-tier microATX motherboards for 99.9% of PC builds and they run for years w/o a problem. Don't be afraid of a $60 motherboard. Just read tons of reviews and dont get a shit model
>>55184973
don't need a CPU cooler or the unlocked version of that CPU since you won't be OCing. The $30 you saved from switching those components out can go towards an 8gb version of the 480
>>55184993
>a better mobo isn't going to give you better performance
I mean, not inherently. The i3 likes the overclocked RAM supported by the z170 mobo, and that is the cheapest z170 mobo I could find.

I suppose that the i5 is just faster and wouldn't bottleneck the GPU like the i3 would, so while the mobo would be more future-proof, that may not matter.
i5 it is then.

This
You can get a better cooler later in time and spend some more

Sorted it out for you.
If there's one thing you should never cheap out on, it's the PSU. I know 650w is overkill, but it's cheaper than the 500-550w.
