How long did it take you to go from a noob to get a job (maybe junior dev)? Language and pay?

Learned C++ in years 2 and 3 of my (real) science degree.

Got a job mid way through year 4, doing C++ and Javascript.

So C++ was about 1.5 years, Javascript was "hello world" to employed in a weekend.

how long: 1 year (dabbling, codecademy, free code camp, etc, then CS50X, then Launchcode.org, then junior front end dev)
language: mostly javascript, some php
pay: 76K USD (midwest)
