MTP doesn't work for me on Debian stretch when connected to my Moto E 2nd gen.

And the sacrifice for that is unbelievable.
Transfer speed down the drain.
Can't tranfer files and changes directories at the same time
MTP database might be out of date. No way to force update of database.
This is just some of the problems I have found. Not worth it when the alternative was just mounting the device.

Not that guy, it does work but its slow as fuck even on a new machine, because of the protocol, not the device/s
It lags and only allows one operation at a time. I can live with it usually but I really wish there was something better and that google had just created their own version.

It´s also really annoying that the media scanner doesn´t work for files transfered over ftp or other wireless solutions.
I have to reboot my phone after transfering a few mp3´s to get them to show up in music apps. What the fuck?

It´s the fault of androids media scanner. Happened on every phone I owned that uses mtp.
It seems like it´s only scanning for new files when there was a mtp connection.
