Linux and Windows are meant to be used together - why are you not doing it that way (or reverse if you prefer Linux as host)?

On screenshot - Ubuntu Server running on VirtualBox with Bridged and Host-Only networking and custom Python script written to run command (in this case open gnome-terminal) to X forwarded server on Windows (vcxsrv)
