This company which had nothing to do with IT I interned once at was ThinkPad only, they have really good B2B support and are partnered with SAP (ERP blah) which is a huge deal when the management systems come preconfigured right out of the box
Lenovo simply offers the best business solutions and the hardware isnt too shabby either.
In the real world HP probably produces better hardware (Elitebook) but those dont have that iconic design and the ubiquity of Thinkpads

I'm running an X200T that my dad bought from his old employer for 40 euro's and gave me as a present. The plastic casing has a crack just above the screen in the right corner (the previous owner must have driven over it or something).
I've actually gotten a couple of compliments on it by other people that have used thinkpads before, usually remarking on their good quality.
Seriously, I can receive wifi just shy of 500 meters (I tested it once). I love this thing. Sometimes someone will ask me my opinion on a MacBook or a Dell or whatever and I'll tell them that I used to have a top of the line Dell laptop and I had I wifi range of about 20 meters and that is was really heavy, so I'll recommend them a used thinkpad.

Not a ton of Macs, but a number of people buy their own ultrabooks / notebooks and set it up with MS's VPN so they don't have to lug around whatever old brick they're given.
