Here's the deal: Bought used laptop, audio and mic jacks are broken.
Using a USB mic produces a really obnoxious static when the laptop is charging. Makes talking to people over longer periods of time kinda hard.
Am now thinking about getting a small external soundcard with extra audio jacks. Question is, since that soundcard would be connected via USB, is it still gonna create static noise when the laptop is charging?

Get a schiit stack.

Install Gentoo.

Depends on the soundcard. Why not just unplug your laptop?

Get a bluetooth headset/mic/speaker combo. Or just stop buying cheap used shit.
