What does /g/ think about Ubuntu Mate?
Absolute favorite. I am not a linux pro but have been using it for a few years and have tried every DE that is in the repos. Stuck on MATE. It just works and stays out of the way. Also isn't a terrible resource hog.

I'm still salty that gnome2 is no more. My first distro was Dapper Drake so I've got rose colored glasses I guess
i`m using it on my T400. It`s nice but can be resource heavy like 1.2 GB ram out of nowhere.
