I've been using a redmi 3 pro for almost a month now, and it's a fantastic phone. But with the 720p screen, I get horrible headaches with extended use, something that rarely happened on my Nexus 5.
Considering gifting it to my mother who rarely uses her old S3, and buying another 200aud phone. Since I don't want to sacrifice battery life and want a 1080p screen, I've been eyeing the k6000 pro. I don't want less than 3gb ram because I multitask heavily.

I'm just looking for something that works well with good battery life, and doesn't go atomic. Visible screen is also good. Hardest thing I do to a phone is maybe play a PSP game but that is rare.
I had a Nexus 4 and its battery life was bad, but I knew that going in so I can't fault it. But it ran smooth and looked great.
Galaxy S5 used most of its ram being on, froze a lot as a result, got too hot, had too little storage, and generally just performed like shit in every category. Seriously the Nexus 4 is faster, so apparently specs mean nothing. Other S5 roasted itself due to bad battery.
LG G3 screen is dim to useless unless its on ultra suck battery mode and viewed at the right angel, battery life is shit, but it at least has 32gb and runs mostly smoothly though not as well as the Nexus 4.
I'm at a loss of what to do every damn phone wants to have a stupid high resolution and gimmic shit over smooth operation and battery. I'll give up the SD card slot if it means the damn thing will work.

Now, heres the story. We have Wifi on our Home router, like most routers, and this Wifi worked with all my Android devices (including the problem device) for the last few months.
A few weeks ago the Galaxy stopped being able to Update or Download apps from the Play Store. (Not entirely correct, it seems to still download some apps, however this takes upwards of 10-15 minutes just for a small (10-20mb app)
Following the usual troubleshooting, I have tried everything listed above.
3 other Android devices work without issue. I have factory reset my router again today. And yet it still doesnt work.
Normally I'd assume a router issue, but its strange that all other android devices can download without issue.
However assuming a phone issue, a Factory Reset should correct that too.
So, are there any DNS/ARP files that aren't changed? Or am I looking in the wrong place? Any help would really be appreciated.

Carrier: does not matter, I buy the phone cash and sweden doesnt have cuck companies forcing you too use a priceplan.
Features: The screen being 5+ inch (preferebly 5,5") is very important since Im planing on using the phone too learn python for android while at work. Also surf the web, chatting on skype and the usual stuff.

My budget would land somewhere arund 250 dollars. I dont mind going up oo 280ish, but it has too be something extra for me too concider going all the way too 300.
