Ive decided that I want to dual boot windows on my linux box, and i plan to do that by putting a spare hard drive in it and installing windows on that. I only have a windows iso, and no windows computer or media creation tool or anything

I heard windows will fuck with your other OSes, so I would obviously like to avoid that.

How do i do this?

Unplug all hard drives except the one you're installing Windows onto. Afterwards reattach the old drive(s) and configure dual booting.

is it fine if I just let my bios do the dual booting, and I have grub not acknowledge the existence of windows?

Should be fine, your bios should have some key to select boot device on startup, so just hold that when you wan't to start wangblows.
