Can anyone explain what the hell Microsoft did to paint?
Yes paint
Before Photoshop i learned paint on my first desktop on Windows 98
There were more features, i recall transparency & overlaying 2 different images
I also recall a free rotating 360 degree tool
I stopped using paint since xp tho
I recently used & you basically can not do anything remotely creative
Why down grade a software that was already there?

I don't remember Paint ever having such feature. I thought you meant transparent cutting. And the rotation tool has always been by 90 degrees.

Paint shop pro 6.0 baby!
Paint.exe is standalone and will run on any version of Windows back to 98. So if you want, you could download an XP ISO nd just cop paint.exe off of it. It does not have these features though. You must've used paint.et

I already tried running Windows 98 Paint natively on Windows 10, it crashes.
The only rotation option is the 90 degrees one.

From BEDRIG's VMWare client on boot up the Windows 98 install
I use ShareX to record a webm of the only transparency available (based on second color chosen)

Definitely. It was where I first used it, and I've been using it ever since for small tasks.
It's as lightweight and easy to use as Paint, just a fuckload more powerful. You can manually edit a GIF palette entry in it, it's crazy the amount of shit it can do.
