Anyone on here got a cheap VR headset for use with cardboard?
Just bought one of these on ali for 30 bucks, claims to provide 120 degree FOV.
For that price what could go wrong?

I got one of pic related of AliExpress for 19 britbucks
Surprisingly good build, works great with my Samsung Note 4, worth every penny.
Although Quake VR is awesome fun, it made we walk into a wall and fall over my bed, twisting my knee. 10/10, would frag again

Derp, forgot pic
I have a cheap gearbest VR and its shit quality.
Maybe it depends on build to build, but it turned me off.
I would like a good cheap PC VR headset for cheap <$100. Without latency and one that supports displayport/hdmi input or maybe even a displays driver that works using wireless network.

Give it 2 years before that is reality m8

tried one of these with my friend's Nexus 6p and it was actually really nice. Definitely worth spending a few dollars for a cool fun intro to VR.
These though will be hilarious in a few years when VR has evolved and is cheaper.

You got ripped off. The human eye can't see more than 60 FOV, anon.

These future VR just need HDMI and USB port. The device on the youtube isn't gaming ready as it seems bit laggy, but I am hopeful future versions or similar devices would support better speed/latency.

not OP but you need at least 90 degrees on VR otherwise you'll have some black borders on the side of the screen.
I've tested a few of these on my youtube channel

Why would you buy a headset with a FOV >60 if they just put in some lenses that reduce the FOV to 60 again to match human vision?

Blackscreens on the sides.
They remove the immersion.

these are the best "cardboard" style headset available
