I don't agree. I remember when it came out and I laughed because it couldn't do anything. Now Win2k on the other hand might be the best version ever made. Powerful and super lightweight. I have an old laptop from '98 still running it for some weird ass radio programming software.

In all seriousness, Windows ME is literally the most underrated version of Windows in existence.
It only got a reputation as an unstable piece of shit because it automatically configures a bunch of cleanup and backup services as regular schedule background services, and those processes shit up the computer. Turn them off, and you literally have yourself Windows 98 Third Edition.

Windows XP was the apex of Windows design. Windows 7 was alright, but mostly added gimmicks on top of XP that were unnecessary.
7's file permission system is especially bad. It also has performance linked to the Aero desktop, which is idiotic.
8 and 10's designs are merely change for the sake of change and inhibit productivity.
