Monitor thread?
Post your monitor. Pros? Cons? Whatever I don't care. Just post monitor shit
I'll start.
Viewsonic VX2235WM
Almost 10 years old but still works great. No HDMI, but DVI is basically the same, so whatever.
>Pros
>22" screen
>Integrated USB hub and Card Readers
>Ipod dock for playing music
>Integrated speakers
>Headphone jack on the front
>Cons
>Again, no HDMI but DVI works fine
>Huge screen bezel
>Shiny Plastic that attracts fingerprints easily
>if you have dumb kids or younger sibling who touch the screen then good luck getting all those finger prints and dirt off the damn thing.
>So many fucking cables to get the damn thing fully working
>Drivers for the monitors USB hub and shit fucked it up
>because of the drivers, i can't put it into the proper resolution and speakers pop every two seconds, making audio choppy as shit.
>no way for me to fix this shit
OP here, update on my monitor
It's dead
Fuck.

Op here again
>Cons
>Will die for a minute and then randomly come back to life
The 2 Dell U2417H I ordered arrived yesterday. On the phone and I don't have pics, but shit is cash as fuck.
I'm monitoring this thread
Looking for a 27 inch, 1440p, 144hz, low latency IPS panel. What are the best options out there in terms of price?
Got an Acer GN246HL. TN panel with very nice picture and 144hz refresh rate for only $200.
Monoprice Crystalpro 4k monitor. Other than the super reflective glass panel on the front of it, it's pretty awesome.

I have a 6 years old Samsung monitor.
No dead pixels. But the quality is not as good as new
SNSV pb258q
>pros
>25"
>1440p (imo best ppi)
>IPS
>great viewing angles
>amazing colors
>3.5mm in and out
>DP, DVI, HDMI, VGA
>pretty cheap for a 1440p monitor (~$300)
>cons
>minior IPS glow
>SNSV support isn't the best, but isn't terrible.
>first one had dark spots but they fixed it after a week or two
>>55102997
kek @ ur shit life
Have 3 of these Yamakasi Catleap Q270
Pros
27"
2560x1440
s-ips
beautiful
sort of reflective but no issue at all in my dim room
negatives:
pretty flimsy, not great build quality but ive had them closer to 4 years now and all are going strong 0 dead pixels
theyve been run at 96, 100, 110 or 120 hz for most of their life too (these started the oc monitor craze) but one started acting up recently so theyre all at 60 now
paid about $900 for all 3, god bless korea
Samsung B2230
>Pros
Found it at Good Will for 50 bucks. Thought it was a dud so I called the phone number that was on a shipping slip the previous owner left in the box to confirm if it was legit. Pretty funny explaining to him why I was calling him in the first place.
I have the same monitor i have a few dead pixels tho

Eizo Foris FS2735
Cons:
27" WQHD 144Hz
Eizo (fucking god tier warranty, support and parts, you really notice they get the cream of the 144Hz WQHD panels)
Amazing Antiglare coating (no visible grain at all, yet it's not a semi)
Freesync 35-144Hz
ULMB at 60, 100, 120, 144Hz
Good stand
G-Ignition is a gamers dream
Slim bezel
Cons:
Different overdrive settings for different refresh rate ranges need to be set manually
LG L22WTG
Pros:
>Matte screen, so you don't have to take a look at your ugly face. Remember, this thing has the deep blacks of an IPS panel, so the loading screens of those manchild games you play all day long would've been uncomfortable
>22" of greatness, I mean, 14" monitors where HUGE in the past. This think is HUMONGOUS
>2 fucking miliseconds of response time. If you were able to put your bare penis into a real woman's vagina, it would take the same time to show a completely new image on the screen than as you to cum, fucking disgusting virgin neckbeard
>16:10 , have you ever heard of the golden ratio? Well, this is as close as you'll ever get to art. If you consider those cantonese puppet animated show you spend your whole day watching art, you disgusting weeabo.
>75Hz native refresh rate. That's right, you can obliterate your "enemies" in those stupid games as you do daily with your chances of becoming a functional member of the society.
Cons
>Are you kidding me? This is the GOAT!
27" 1440p Samsung something
I got it when the price came down from 1000€ to 600€. It compliments my antique furniture, colors really pop. A bit too glossy but I keep this room dark.
DELL U3011
>Pros:
Big
Good resolution (2560*1600)
AH-IPS
16:10 instead of 16:90
A lot of ports
Good Colors
Support for surround speaker setup for some reason
Memory card slots
>Cons:
Makes a tiny bit of whine noise when on
Some light bleeding
Rated 60Hz only
A lot of ghosting since it's basically a 40Hz monitor with all that 22ms+ input lag.
Price ($1250 when I bought it)
When going into power saving or when it loses connection to PC (when you turn the PC off or something) it takes a while before you can change input through the GUI
TL;DR Slow GUI when autodected is doing it's work.

Holy shit man thank you so much, this item ships to my County and is under $300. I have been searching for a monitor under $300 for months but in my country the cheapest 1440p monitor is around $500
I've been looking for a big monitor, and the Asus pg348q is something im quite interested in. Are heug, curved monitors a meme?
PG278Q
1440P, 144hz, g-sync, better colors and blacks than the IPS model, no backlight bleed at all, and 1ms response time.
I wont be upgrading monitors for many more years to come.
Currently sick of staring at the 15" display of pic related.
Looking to spend a good amount of cash for a big-ass 1080p monitor, preferably over 21". GFX is Nvidia GT 640M.
I mostly use my PC for music production with Ableton Live.
Also, should I be looking for 4k monitors?
Asus VS248H
Pros:
>24 inch
>1080p
>looks good
>2ms
>Can rotate screen verticaly
Cons:
>Very "flexible", shakes a lot when moving or touching it and makes cracking sounds.
>When pressing power button it doesn't turn on instantly so you need to hold it for 0,5 sec which kinda triggers me.
Pretty tempted to go with an ultra wide monitor, not sure what brand to go for... normally i'd get a dell, but it seems to be a hefty premium over what appears to be the same panel from another brand.
asus mx279h
got it refurbished on sale at newegg for $199.99 cdn.
>>55110513
good
>IPS great color reproduction and viewing angles
>1080p
>5 ms response time/9 ms input lag
>nice silver metallic finish with no bezel
>budget price
>built in speakers, not sure how good they though cause I use my own
bad
>dpi is a bit low cause 27inch/1080p
I just picked up a dell u2713hm from craigslist for $140. No dead pixels, guy kept it in great condition. Gonna use it mainly for coding. Scale from 1 to 10 how bad did I screw up?
Guys going to buy dual monitor setup to replace my dual 2233sw's. I am considering AOC i2369 and AOC i2481fxh... I would buy dell pivot stand and adapt it for vesa 75x75 for superior screen manipulation. But 2481 is bigger and look nicer(in my country only silver 2369 is available). Any thoughts? For that price I could get one u2515h but I would buy 2 monitors now and pivot them on sides and buy some superior screen next year.
Monitor: AOC 32243Fwk
Pros:
>It was very cheap
>Decent screen size
>Thin
Cons:
>Flicker noticeable on various patterns, so certain images will flicker in spots
>Had to turn off dithering to reduce the flicker
>Stupid model name
>Thin, but the base is where the wires connect
>The vesa mount is in the base, so the monitor can't really be effectively wall or arm mounted
>DVI and VGA only
>60Hz only
>TN
>Touch keys fairly unresponsive
>Only 1920x1080
I won't make this mistake again.
best 16:10 monitors?
>>55112036
i call bullshit. who in their right mind would sell a $500 monitor for $140...
>>55113852
I am lucky enough to go to a very good engineering school, so at the end of every spring semester thousands of rich kids try to dump all their expensive/large electronics for cheap before moving.
whats the best 1440p 144hz g-sync monitor?
ASUS VS228 and Acer X193W+
>>55102914
I used to have the 19inch version of this
then I upgraded to a 23inch benq IPS monitor and it's infinitely better desu
Getting this when it comes out. Its 1440p 27inch, dont know much about the other stuff since im only into it because of dat bezel
>>55102914

I had the 24" version of this and mine would actually die and come back all the fucking time. Sent it in for repair, got a 27" of the same model back. After a while that model also started doing the same.
Here is a guy with the same problem I had.

4k or ultra wide 3440x1440. I have no wait to actually compare them but from what I've seen so far:
>Ultrawide can be pretty comfy and immersing in RPGs and FPS and I do love me some comfy games.
>It has problems with HUD scaling and older games
>It's less taxing on GPU than actual 4k so something like a 1080 gtx would be more than enough to max Witcher 3
Should I?
>>55118536
no way*. Forgive me, 7 AM in Britbongstan and I still haven't went to bed.
>>55107553
Singapore?
>>55103210
Same. Takes a second to warm up or whatever (colors are super weird for 5-10 seconds after turning it on) but other than that it's a good cheap one.
>monitors
I couldn't go back to anything less than a 40" HD TV now, and even then I'd be like..too small
BENQ W1070
Acer S241HL
>Pros
>Got it for $100 from Amazon on Black Friday
>My bank was running a promotion where 1 person would have their purchases made on Black Friday refunded up to a certain amount, so technically I got it for free
>Cons
>Stand is wobbly as hell
>Built-in speakers suck ass, but that's to be expected
>>55120431
