Hello /g/ This is my first gaming pc desktop I built a few days ago , since then I have been running my games on a 1600x900 hp monitor
AMD FX 8300
8GB RIPJAWS RAM
MSI GTX 970
My question is , I'm looking into a 1920x1080 screen for the first time , how bad would my fps be hit in the upgrade?
For games now I get 60fps no problem.

Most demanding game is The Witcher 3, where you'll get about 30FPS on Ultra at 1080p. Turn down a few settings to get 60FPS.
Check benchmarks, noob.

1080p if fucking old school dude. My 270x, which should be weaker than your card, blast through 1440p no problem.

nice cinematic 8fps dumbass

Im not joking. Most games at max 60fps and games like BDO or Overwatch hober around 40-60fps. I even have a 1200*1600 monitor on the side.
it's a small resolution jump, I think you will not even notice any difference.
I have a 960 which is reasonably weaker than your GPU, and I can play almost anything at 60fps on 1080. just high (not ultra) settings in some very heavy games, like 2016 ones, dying light, gta V
