Quick question
Are ultrawide screens a meme?
I'm about to buy one
they are a meme
hardly anything that is not 16:9 is supported.
you're better off getting a 1440p 16:9 rather than 1080p 21:9
>>55090280
Am about to buy one to.
Consider that you dont get a 29' they have the height of 22' and this sucks, go for a 34'.
A 21:9 will reduce your fps so get a decent gpu.

Right now I have a GTX 970 SC
That should be ok, right?
>>55090384
Yes, that's enough. Everything less will not do so well.
>>55090384
yep

It shall be this one

>800€
>1440p
You sure have some money.
Check if you like the fps

>>55090528
Just build my first gaming pc ever.
About 1,3k €
If the current GPU isn't enough I'll opt for the EVGA 1080 SC or FTW.
But I will have to save some money for a few months
Thanks for the benchmarks though
>>55090528
I for myself will just get a 1080p and get the gtx1070.
But 800€ just for a monitor is not something I would spend my money for
>>55090593
Get a gtx1070 unless you want to upgrade to 4k
>>55090628
Since I just bought a LG Ultrawide 4k screen I'll go for 1080
Yes.
It's a nice meme desu, if you have the desk space.

>A 21:9 will reduce your fps so get a decent gpu.
>every post on /g/ can be safely assumed to be gaymershit
This meme I do not like.
I have a shitty LG ultrawide monitor and I have to say it's still pretty ok for me. I don't dig that most content is of course 16:9 so those vertical bars never get old and maximized browsers look weird and all, a lot of wasted space. But some games support it and as a result, it's fucking nice. I went back to 16:10 for kicks and I really have a hard time now.
