IT'S OVER, AIDSDOBE IS FINISHED & BANKRUPT
>>
>>55079433
This is a month old exploit they still have no fix on and there are speculation there are at least two more that are not detected but in the wild.
what a fucking joke
>>
>>55079433
That's what they get for insipid garbage like Adobe Cloud.
>>
This has happened pretty much every week for the past 5-10 years. The result is always that normies continue using it anyways.
>>
>>55079555
There is a bank that just recently switched to flash based internet banking. Yes.
>>
>>55079433
who still uses flash as a player.

I only use the software (because it's a damn good animation tool), but the plugin is unreliable as fuck
>>
>>55079580

>streaming
>>
>>55079580
What >>55079740 said.

>>55079856
Hey. Sometimes it's nice not having to spend two months downloading a torrent of some old series nobody cares about that has one Russian dude seeding for 20 minutes every Monday or go full autism and start hanging out in some private piracy networks.

That and porn. My god the porn.
>>
>>55079740
>streaming through the browser
yeah, you better install Kodi right now and get the Exodus Add-on
>>
>>55079901
>Exodus Add-on
what's that for?
>>
>>55079921
An Add-on for Kodi, on which you can stream many TV-shows and movies(in HD)
it pulls its sources from many hosters, so it takes away the time off you waisting to find a working mirror

if you have never realy worked with Kodi, here is a step by step add-on installation guide: https://seo-michael.co.uk/how-to-install-exodus-for-kodi/
I recommend checking out his other tutorials for other add-ons which might interest you, like Live-TV or such
>>
i disabled flash a few months ago. didn't notice any difference until i wanted to watch a livestream on youtube. you can easily browse without flash.
>>
Are click to play disabling add ons good enough to protect yourself?
>>
Is pepperflash in chrome/ium is affected?
>>
>>55080128
>until i wanted to watch a livestream on youtube
Watching a livestream right now on YouTube, with Flash disabled.
Even streaming isn't an excuse for flash at this point; websites just need to catch up and drop flash player already.
>>
>>55079740
Did you mean 'screaming'?
>>
>>55080305
It's only a workaround and it's an ugly one, too.

I'm not lieing when I say that I do not miss flash. Even most modern porn sites have HTML5 nowadays. Heck, a few days ago the HTML5 beta of tnaflix went live and replaced the old flash version of the site. Most stream hosters (even the ones for anime, which I don't even watch) offer a HTML5 version if you change your user agent string to some mobile device (Random Agent Spoofer addon for FF).

Flash was cool when we had no consent of about how video should be implemented in HTML1-4, but these times are finally over. So fuck flash.
>>
HTML5 on youtube desyncs audio so I'm stuck with flash for now.
>>
>>55080783

If you watch shitty SD porn from 10 years ago on shady porn streaming sites using flash, then you quite frankly deserve to get v&.
>>
As I'm aware, HTML5 doesn't natively support full screen mode on video elements and you have to use JS. Is this really the case?
>>
>>55081016
You can't even play html5 videos whatsoever without javascript.
>>

what is this for real?
>>
flash > silverlight. at least the former is available on decent operating systems.
>>
>>55081037
Huh? Sure you can.
>>

He means on sites that use customized video players and such, by binding event listeners to controls, instead of using the browser's default player.
>>
>>55079580

>>
>>55079433
Adobe themselves don't give a shit about Flash anymore.

Unless this involves the source code leak of any of their photo or video editors, it has no affect on Adobe. Don't be so fucking retarded.
>>
>>55081187
Right, I thought so. Is it best to just build your own, that will probably look like shit if done quickly, or are there any good alternatives?
>>
>>55081096
I believe it's mandatory in South Korea. All of the banks have an online system that has to match the government's regulations and it uses an outdated IE and either Flash or Java - I forget which plugin specifically.
>>
>>55081239
Actually it's worse than Flash or Java, it's ActiveX, which MS doesn't maintain anymore IIRC.
>>
>>55081239
>>55081469
South Korea is moving away from ActiveX. By 2017, 90% of the top 100 websites will no longer require ActiveX for banking or online shopping.
>>
>>55081533
>mfw i realize my country is far more technologically advanced than south korea
wow
>>
>>55081227
If you want your player to function for people with Javascript disabled, then you'll probably want to just have a <video> tag, and when the page loads have the player built up through JS, so that it doesn't have broken off pieces without JS.

That said, there are a lot of HTML5 video players that work well for different things, that aim to imitate how Flash video players are. Could probably just use one of them.
>>
>>55079433

Oh noes, /f/ is doomed.

So what you're saying is, that Twitch can't switch to HTML5, because doing so would result on firing all of their devs, who were hired in the first place to work on an already dying platform?

If they were any smaller, they would already be dead.

Works, but seems like they need to work on it a lot, so I guess it's understandable they have rolled that thing out.

But then again, they've been working on it for months; why isn't it the default already? Or at least not falling back onto it when Flash is disabled?

People who have Adobe Flash installed won't listen the next 10 times either.

Provide a HTTP direct download link that will open in the end user's favorite local media player when clicked upon.

I've found that a lot of people (all of them chrome users) don't even know that they're using flash because chrome doesn't show it in chrome://extensions/ but hides it in chrome://plugins/ which isn't accessible through the menu

Kind of worrying if you ask me

flash has been dead for a very long time, new friend.

all major websites (or at least those that matter), has phased out flash as an requirement to experience their content. only a few, irrelevant instances remains:
>old 90's porn sites
>flash game site
>some media sites
>>
>>55088493
There's still the occasional local news article I see that has a Flash Video player that's a decade old, and runs like shit cause their tech guy doesn't get paid enough to update anything.
>>
>>55079433
This happens all the time, the question is why is it still not dead already? Isn't supporting it a big enough liability?

But the answer is as always, users don't care. Users don't care when you open a single page which causes RAM usage to spike up to 100%, they don't care that there are more than few websites pretending to be official flash download sites, and this one hurts me the most, they don't care that even Adobe is using its software as it's being used by advertisement overloaded websites by trying to get away with changing settings and installing additional software during installation.

In the end, browsers should kill it, nothing else could at this point but I'm sure as soon as someone ditches it, there's going to be one implement a good enough solution for a year and keep flash under life support.
>>
>>55081803
you shoudnt look up how japan handles such shit they go ape level with activex but they literly are a nation of tech illiterats that foster a mage elite cast that somehow maintains that shit and by just being cryptic as fuck with there language dont have giant exploit and malware waves crush there shit

>>
>Bankrupt
I'm quite sure the majority of their income comes from Creative products anyway.
>>
>>55089177
Why are they not killing it then? It's literally smoking addiction of the internet, it has few advantages for very specific cases but most of the time it ends in cancer and earns Adobe a terrible name.

I think they're catering to sleezy advertisers, and somehow make a lot of money out of it.
>>
>>55087996
You can watch all that porn in mpv with youtube-dl scripts
>>
>>55089278
They're not killing it because plenty of things still use Flash... Sure it's bad for their reputation but suddenly stopping support for software when millions of people (including businesses) would be worse.
>>
>>55089339
Who's going to use flash when flash ads will be a thing of the past? Mid 2016 Google won't accept flash ads anymore and 2017 they're killing off their flash ads entirely.
>>
>>55089339
But even long term support plans usually have a planned end date, why are they still not saying we're killing it off next 5 years or something? Everyone is trying to kill it, Adobe keeps it on life support, only people benefiting from this are sleezy advertisers. How hard it is for non-hardcore advertisement based websites to remove flash?
>>
>>55087996

Who ever said that, autist? Good anime is objectively worse when streaming and so is bad anime.
Plus, someone needs to update that picture. With torrenting you have RSS feed downloaders so you can begin downloading the instant the episode comes out then watch whenever you feel like it. Torrenting is literally more convenient than streaming.
>>
>>55092893
>objectively worse
There's a certain point when "objective quality" of audiovisual fidelity stops meaning shit for its benefit is absolutely negligible or even counterproductive.

>you save a ton of bandwidth and contribute to preserving the environment

Bandwidth is irrelevant to everyone but Australia and the east coast of the US.

>Bandwidth is irrelevant to everyone but Australia and the east coast of the US.
Oh won't you just look at Mr. streetwise here, that's fucking wrong faggot and you know it

The only way it can even compare convenience wise is if you're actively following a show.

And beyond a certain point better audiovisual quality is provably placebo. And even below that, it could be argued that the grit and imperfections themselves might add more character to the medium if it's that kind of show.
