Are we even sure it was an APU? Did they say it was? I thought that Summit Ridge was not going to have an iGPU? They could have just been showing the Zen CPU with a dedicated graphics card just to say that it can handle games.
Personally I would love for it to be an 8 core, 16 thread APU so when devs actually get the whole DX12/Vulcan multiadapter stuff going the iGPU can have stuff offloaded to it from a dedicated Video Card.

Since it seemed you had strong emotions involved in this I expected if I waited long enough there would be a source provided that proved AotS said AMD did it right. It seems all we have is one goof by Nvidia, and not necessarily in the driver given to reporters, but that the driver version given to reporters somehow ended up in an AMD display. I wonder if Nvidia knew why the reporters needed the drivers.
In the end it seems there was no report of AotS giving AMD a pass and Nvidia a fail. The only thing it seems we have is an old driver being used on an Nvidia card for an AMD demonstration which serves to undermine the validity of the benchmark comparison. Perhaps it was serendipity or perhaps Nvidia knew if they gave those press-version drivers to a specific journalist it would end up in AMD's hands for an AMD display. You make the call.
