Why is it so difficult to transfer files from your phone to your computer using wifi? I know there's apps and everything, but none of them are truly that good and are quite slow. It seems like the basic concept shouldn't be difficult since the devices are on the same network. Can someone explain why it's not?

it would be nice if android supported smb and nfs mounts in the OS. That would make this whole thing trivial.
