PNG and FLAC are compressed, though.

I'm no expert, but I'm fairly sure those images are EXACTLY the same and the right is not actually a JPEG.

I overlayed the two images in GIMP and used the "difference" mode. It looked totally black (even when I fiddled with the brightness and contrast) and the fuzzy select tool with a tolerance of 0 selected the entire region.

I get the joke, of course, but I had to check because I'm autistic.

No silly. The image was originally JPEG to begin with, and then converted to PNG, to get that figure. In that case, the image would look the same anyways.

The image maker would have had a better case if he was converting an originally lossless image to lossy.

I hate this fucking world, too many god damn fuckers in it.
Too many thoughts and different societies all wrapped up together in this fucking place called AMERICA.
Everyone has their own god damn opinion on every god damn thing,
and you may be saying 'Well what makes you so different?'.
Because I have something only me and V have; SELF AWARENESS.
Call it exortenstiolism or whatever the fuck you want.
We know what we are to this world, and what everyone else is.
We learn more than what caused the civil war and how to simplify quadratics in school.
We've been watching you people and we know what you think and how you act.
All talk and no action.
People who are said to be brave or courageous are usually just STUPID,
then they say later that they did it on purpose cause they're brave,
when they did it on fucking accident.
God everything is so corrupt and so filled with opinions and points of view,
and peoples own little agendas and schedules.
This isn't a world any more.
It's H.O.E and no one knows it.
Self awareness is a wonderful thing.

Subject: Renaming the Debian Project
From: benjamin barber <[email protected]>
Date: Wed, 30 Dec 2015 14:03:40 -0800
Message-id: <[] CAMTdTS-KmmtpWnn1GwA4mGK_Ex7_2O6gYxaStYz_MoTmtQxf+Q@mail.gmail.com>

>It's unfortunate that Debian is named after Debra and Ian, because having the project named after a white supremacist, who used his ex-wifes name as an trophy. Being that the current year is almost 2016 and is 20 years after Debian started, we should look to the future and not the past. We shouldn't tolerate the project being named after a person who uses the N word, or marginalizes women who've been sexually assaulted. Instead I think we ought to rename the project "Euphemia", which means "good speech" and represents our code of conduct, as well as being the name of Euphemia Lofton Haynes the first African American woman who earned a math PHD.

They're not, that study that was put out two? years ago was biased as fuck with no control and the results made no sense.
>lol a 4tb is more reliable than a 1tb
>>
>>55060596
Lets put it this way; when I was recently doing work on my custom loop and hard mounting the res, I had to open up the back of my case and unscrew the HDD from the case to do my job.
I dropped that exact model (if its the ST3000DM001, which I suspect it is) from a height of roughly 38 inches off the ground and it still runs a fucking charm.
Of course it wasn't in use when it dropped, but that still doesn't bode well for a HDD.

The only reason they came out so badly was because one reviewer shoved something like 38 into a single box with very little anti-vibration buffering and ran them all at 100% for several days straight.
With 38, running at the full 7200rpm, 24/7, of course there's going to be a much higher failure rate than normal.
>>
>>55060677
Not that I can tell, though if you think about it, a loop that small shouldn't need one. Yes, I am serious. The idea is that the raspberry pi can't even heat up to extreme levels and although the fluid wouldn't be moving, the fact its all connected up would provide natural heat dispersion through the liquid, averaging out the temperature.
Its the same reason why fluid that has just gone through a radiator will have roughly the same temperature as fluid that has just passed the pump, or CPU/GPU - because the liquid averages out the temperature across its entire body.

>>55053339
Yeah it's still compressed, mp3 and jpg and shit are quantized on top of being compressed which is where the quality loss occurs
>>
>>55064786
Wrong. PCM signals like what's on audio CDs (uncompressed audio) are also quantized, i.e. you round the signal amplitude at each sampling point to the nearest number you can encode in whatever code you use. Here's how JPEG works:
> take uncompressed image data (bitmap; quantized with 8 bits per color channel; three color channels; (height) x (width) pixels)
> divide into 16x16 pixel blocks
> calculate discrete cosine transform of the 2D greyscale image for each color channel of each 16x16 pixel block
> round and reencode DCT values
mp3 works similarly but takes into account some more advanced effects like not being able to distinguish two frequencies that are close together, or two acoustic events that happen in rapid succession.

well, apparently it's legit

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/does-mayonnaise-last-as-a-thermal-compound

"Let’s try to answer the question we initially posed. The answer could be “not very well.” The initial performance of the mayonnaise nearly equals the performance of good “real” thermal compounds, and lasts for about 24 hours.
After that, the cooling performance degrades.

But the temperature difference stabilizes at about six degrees Celsius hotter than the initial temperature, which is not a complete disaster, but obviously places mayonnaise below the performance of commercial thermal pastes.
So, does mayonnaise last as a good thermal compound?

No, it doesn’t. But does it stop working as a thermal compound? Absolutely not. After a couple of days, it works as a pretty poor thermal compound, which is better than no thermal compound at all.

Also, after 12 days the metallic cap of the CPU and the base of the CPU cooler were pretty oxidized. Even though we could remove this oxidation with a sponge, we don’t know what would happen after a longer period of time."

I could probably stick it into my home server which has no GPU. Not that it needs one anyways, but why not have some CUDA cores, maybe i can set up some applications that do something with them, like the Google deep dream algorithm.

>The primary capacitors of even the most powerful ATX power supply, 1200W and up, would drain to safe levels (voltage too low to overcome your body's natural resistance) in less than two or three seconds when fully charged, even if left entirely alone, due to residual draw in the circuit. With lower wattage PSUs the discharge is much quicker; under 500W, a tenth of a second is not unlikely. The charge held by electrolytic and polymer capacitors in PSUs is not that extreme, and the natural resistance in these circuits is low. The capacitors discharge quickly and present little danger of shocking unless you're mucking around with the PSU while it's on (in which case you have more problems than just lax capacitor safety).

Nigga. How old are you?
Back in the days cases were built like fucking blades.
Shit you not.

Every time you had to build a PC, take it apart, wanted to upgrade it, YOU PAID WITH BLOOD FOR THAT SHIT.
Things have changed now, for the better.
But if you see an older computer, don't forget about the blood pact.

Ps.: I had to do this shit with a similar tower. Bought a cheapo ATX case for a kid who asked me to build him a PC. And the EVO212 did not fit in it.
So, I used gentle methods (hammer, clamps), to compress it a little bit.
It worked and nothing broke.

Bro. In the real industry, engineers have to come up with scams, ALL the time.

> you have to design a car that breaks just in time
> you have to take apart old cars, find out why they run for so long
> you have to design consumer electronics with weak points to make them break

and so on, and so on.
in my industry for example, they come up with new refrigerants every two days, which are basically mixed from the previous ones.
BUT, you need all the new equipment for it.

The world works now like this, and it's not tinfoil shit. Brother works at AUDI, he saw the new engines, the technicians at work. The engine literally trembles if you check it with a very high speed camera, that's how thin the walls of it are.

The other thing I said about the take apart... they bring in cars, and for example find a cable that could cost a lot. So they move the cable into the motor bay so it will get wet or just break after some time.

I mean the sides of the cases were usually really sharp. The coolers, the ram modules, everything.

Now it's all for babbies. All cute rounded shapes with no harm and no blood pact.

Just check an old ram module, it's bloody sharp.
But again, depends on when you started this shit.
