Are fans with built in temperature controllers a good idea if

That's why I use those arctic coolers like in OP except they're pwm and you can link many together using 1 4pin from your mainboard

Instead of using a splitter, I thought of connecting the fan straight to the psu. The onboard fan controller should then controll the rpm depending on the temperature, no?
