Why does it take a million years for windows 10 file explorer to do anything? I just upgraded and it's running like shit

it has always been crappy implemented.
It won't display anything before it calculates size of folders etc.
And since the default location is "about computer", it can take several minutes to display something if you have network connected drives which takes long time to respond for some reason.
It is shitty all around.
Wait, if I use explorer++ it's pretty decent. But this shit is unforgivable, I think it's time to finally get linux on this shit. I've used it before for work, so it shouldn't be a problem getting both on, I think.
one suggestion - make sure the folder is optimized for "General Items", not pictures, in the Customize tab of the folders properties.
