If it werent any good every distro wouldnt be switching to it.
People here haven't had to do things like fix shitty service scripts that don't properly kill child processes and temporary files. I'm looking at you OpenSIPS.
All other alternatives suck ass and everybody knows it but it's easier to say systemd is shit.
systemd is only better than its alternatives if you don't know bash. I personally see no issue with writing openrc scripts and it does everything it has to.
Apart from that systemd tries to so WAY too much for an init system.
