Aren't you afraid of the growing restrictions the Internet is suffering and will suffer in the near future due to government involvement and regulation of information? What will happen with the great libraries? The torrenting sites? BookZZ and lib.gen and so on? Are you downloading and backing up already? Am I just paranoid? What if some information just isn't available anymore?

Nothing in particular, I just got the first couple dozen torrents when elsevier took down sci-hub.org.
I also keep a more or less organized offline library of any books or research papers (mainly CS and mathematics) I come across the net.
